Hvem trener du med?

Om du ønsker optimale resultater fra treningen din er det viktig hvem du trener sammen med, det er naturligvis mulig å lykkes alene, men det er langt enklere og mye morsomere å trene sammen med andre. Det betyr ikke at du må ha en fast treningspartner, men treningsmiljøet er svært viktig.

Å surre rundt på et typisk kommersielt senter hvor du kanskje er den sterkeste og flinkeste av alle, kan til tider være morro og godt for selvtilliten. Du føler deg kanskje ekstra flink når alle rundt deg suger, men om du er ute etter optimale resultater er et seriøst treningsmiljø langt mer fruktbart, og det vil nok også gi deg med glede og kameratskap i det lange løp.

I boken ‘The Purposeful Primitive‘ forklarer Marty Gallagher dette på en flott måte:

“…When it comes to stimulating your own physical progress, it is far better to be the small fish in a big pond, then the big fish in the small pond. Nothing seems to make the insurmountable 400 pound squat barrier (your personal best) seem slight and insignificant as when training with people who squat double that pundage for reps.”

Fra personlig erfaring så kan jeg nevne at jeg selv det siste året har trent først på Olympiatoppens Toppidrettssenter, og nå trener og jobber på Magnat Performance Center på Skøyen – “Folkets toppidrettssenter”, som vi har begynt å markedsføre det som. Jeg har ikke angret et sekund på at jeg valgte å kutte ut trening på ‘vanlige’ kommersielle senter.

Så; hvem trener du med?
Om du er seriøs med treningen din, ta steget nå og finn deg et treningsmiljø hvor du er omringet av andre personer som også er entusiastiske og seriøse med treningen – både resultater og gleden fra treningen din vil forbedres 🙂

En lokal vetkløftingsklubb eller styrkeløftklubb er alltid et godt valg om du vurderer å konkurrere, ellers vil jeg framheve to andre sentere:
– Magnat Performance Center på Skøyen i Oslo, hvor jeg som nevnt jobber.
– Crossfit Bergen. Mange solid trente folk, til crossfit å være vertfall ;). Det som gjør det til et så godt senter, er miljøet, utstyret og det faktum at de er veldig åpne – du må ikke nødvendigvis være crossfitter for å trene der.  Andre forslag til sentere med gode og seriøse miljøer tas gjerne imot i kommentarfeltet.
